It Never Runs Out

A single sentence has been running through my head, over and over today; and the sentence was written by a man whose faith was so deep I can’t even imagine I will ever be as close to God as he was. But even in that latter thought, this sentence that Paul wrote in the book of Philippians should mean everything to you and I. Because if we live out the words in this sentence, it won’t matter where your faith is at, or how close you are to God….because there is a common truth and thread that we all must strive to live by. This one sentence was born into all of us at our time of salvation, and with God’s fervent love has been grown over time, to reveal that no matter how hard things get…no matter how troublesome things would appear….and even no matter how high on the mountian top we are….we will always have a job to do!

“As long as I’m alive in this body, there is good work for me to do.” Philippians 1

When Paul wrote these words to the followers of Christ in Philippi, he was in fact being imprisoned! His captors were doing all they could to keep Paul from preaching the Gospel, but Paul found that their actions were having the opposite affect…instead, Paul was given a pulpit to preach out of and many in the prison were coming to the knowledge of Christ. No matter the situation or how bad things may have been for Paul, he wasn’t loosing sight of the fact that their is always good work to do.

I think these words have hit me so hard today, because I know the time has come for myself to step up to the plate. I know in my heart I have so much to learn and take back in from the Lord, and I am willing and excited about that! But I also know that things will always get hard, and that instead of retreating, I need to realize that no matter what’s going on, I will always have good work to do. If it be to my family, friends, or stranger…the work will never run out :o) We will always have a purpose.
